The distance for each pull shall be 27 1/2 ft. but
distance of less than 27 1/2 ft will be used to determine winner or
placement at the end of the contest.

The distance between side boundaries shall be 15 ft . Teams
must stay within side boundaries . Distance will be disqualified if horse
steps on or over rope even if driver commands horse to stop.

First and second pull shall be in direction indicated by the
judges . All third pulls shall be from spot chosen by teamster. Two minutes
are allowed to take first pull , one minute for second , and two minutes for
third. THREE ATTEMPTS at hitching to the sled will count as one pull.

Any command to GO given by the driver will be counted a pull
and measurement will be recorded except in case of breakage, which entitles
a team to another pull at the end of the round , except in percentage pull .
Breakage will be : (1) hamestrap breaking, causing hames to come out of the
collar , (2) belly band breaking, (3) tug breaking in two , (4) single tree
or double tree breaking , and (5) tug coming unhooked after command to GO.

Whistle or signal shall be given when team has made the
distance or committed an error nullifying distance. Driver must stop team
immediately after said signal , or be disqualified from taking next pull.

Driver will have option on taking first and second pull .
Spot on third pull only , with teamster picking spot . Spot tractor must
stay between the ropes and come to the end of ropes only , with front
of tractor.

Same driver is required on all pulls for any given round .
Drivers may be changed within round only in case of injury . Otherwise ,
drivers may be changed on next load.

Each driver may have three helpers to be used on doubletrees
and lines ; NO HEADERS ALLOWED. After team is hitched to sled , helpers must
be behind double trees . In no case will helpers be allowed to touch load or
horses, or to speak to horses after command to GO is given . No one is
allowed to walk along ropes towards the horses or beside the horses.

Drivers shall not prod , whip , or touch horses while
pulling and shall drive with a reasonably tight line . In no case will a
driver be allowed to whirl or shake lines over horses or above his own head
while pulling . No driver will be allowed to jump double trees. Driver may
not use line under tail to persuade horse to pull.

Undue abusive treatment to horses on or off pulling track ,
or undue profanity can disqualify contestant, if judges see fit . In case of
abuse or profanity on third pull , decision will be made by officers and
trustees.

There shall be at least three judges for each contest and a
majority shall determine decision.

Weight for start of pull shall be determined by the
officials so as to hold down the number of pulls and still give spectators a
good show, although , in no case, shall more than 1,000 pounds be added if
one third of the teams are eliminated ; except in case of percentage or
weight pulls where the handicap on certain teams must be greater.

Each contestant must present a weight slip to compete in
pull and horses weighed together must pull together. Weighing must be done
by the president or vice -president of the association at the time and place
designated before the pull . Weigh time will be 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. . In case
of large paying pulls , officers will decide whether to weigh . All light
weight teams must be 3200 lbs or under ; heavy weight teams will be over
3200 lbs. Weights will be held for next day pulls or if there is only one
day between pulls.

Teams will draw for position to pull, except in case of
percentage or weight pulls , in which case pulling position will be
determined by weight of team .

There will be no changes of bridles after pull starts. If
blinds are dropped , teams will be disqualified for that pull.

In case of tie, next best distance will determine placing .
When there's only two teams left for last load and one chooses to pass, then
the other team doesn't have to hitch and is declared the winner.

Official timer will be used.

Fliers will be distributed on all pulls , paid for by the
association.

Shovel will be carried on sled to remove any manure on
pulling track.

When sled is being spotted , dirt may be kicked in front of
sled but not behind sled.

Driver must be behind double trees when team is
started.

IN ALL CASES, THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES IS FINAL.
