5TH WHEEL WAGON CHASSIS:
Price: $2,000.00 Contact Tim Kasten at
timothykasten@gmail.com
Wagon
chassis built by Shiloh Wagon Works. The wagon is 6' 4" wide
(outside of tire to outside of tire), 14' long, and 31"
high. It has a welded frame for a 4' square by 18" deep box
on the underside of the chassis. The chassis is beautifully
welded
throughout and the tires are new. The top rails of the wagon
are angle irons that would allow you to attach a wagon box
or seating of your own design. The wagon also has electric
brakes on the rear wheels that could be modified for
hydraulic
operation. I have the towing attachment for a vehicle with a
2" ball hitch, but if you intend to pull it with a horse or
team, you will need a pole to fit the wagon's quick-change
receivable hitch. The wagon has never been used other than
towing it the
6
miles from the freight depot to my house. One of the selling
points in the brochure from Shiloh Wagon Works was that the
wagon could be towed at highway speeds and that is true in
my limited experience of towing it. I towed the wagon at
45 mph and it didn't weave around like a hay wagon. It
tracked straight behind the truck. The 5th wheel turns very
smoothly and the wagon rolls so easily, that when I've
needed to move the wagon in my driveway, I've been able to
do it all by myself. The wagon weighs about 900 pounds, but
I can pull it easily by myself on the level part of my
driveway. The wagon is equipped with 4000-lb springs
and would be ideal for horse-drawn wagon rides. If you are
interested, I will send pictures, but I intend to sell the
wagon locally and will not ship or deliver it.
