KEITH HILL

Roger "Keith" Hill
of Apalachin
Roger "Keith" Hill, of Apalachin, N.Y., born on November 23, 1944, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer. His courage and strength were an inspiration to his whole family and we will miss him greatly. The source of his strength and courage was his beloved son, Corey, who was Keith's shining light. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Margaret Hill. He is survived by his loving son, Corey; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Bill Daniel, Apalachin, Nina and Dean Smith, Owego; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Barb Hill, Apalachin, Don "Garth" and Kathie Hill, Owego. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Lynn Wormke, Garth and Jaime Hill, Carlee and Jeremy Hill, Brandon and Taylor Smith; also a very close friend, Lorie; and a special neighbor and close friend, Jack Gromniak. Keith helped run, Tioga Manor Farm, the family farm right after high school, first with his grandfather, Sam Hill and then with his father, Donald Hill, until he retired in 1994. Keith continued the family farm for several more years. He has a beautiful team of horses and enjoyed horse pulling for many years. Keith served as past president of the Horse Pullers Association. He had many great friends in horse pulling that he loved to spend time with and continued those friendships throughout the years. Keith started driving truck for Cobblestone Crossing which took him all up and down the East Coast. He always came home with stories of the people he'd met and the places he'd seen. He made some good friends during that time also. A special thank you to the Health Care Team at Broome Onocology, and a very special thanks to Dr. Serul Kahn for his honesty and devotion to Keith. We are also grateful for the care and support given to us by Lourdes Hospice. God Bless Kenny, Lorie, Nina and Jack for the care and support during his 8 year battle.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Keith's life on Saturday, February 9th, at 1 p.m. at the Flemingville Church, Owego. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memories and condolences for the family may also be shared by visiting our website at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com.
