Mary Elizabeth Smart, 76, died March 27, 2007 at the Catholic Medical
Center in Manchester, NH.
She was born September 9, 1930 in Raymond, NH, daughter of the late
Willis and Leslie (Fogg) Guyette.
Mary grew up and went through school in Raymond. She married Raymond
Smart Sr. and in 1953 they moved to Chester, NH where they raised their
family and have resided ever since.
She was a founder, former secretary and treasurer of the Raymond Town
Fair Horse Pulling and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary Raymond
VFW.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Raymond Smart Sr. of
Chester, NH, 2 sons, Raymond Smart Jr. of Exeter, NH and Willis “Skip”
Smart and wife, Mary of Raymond, NH, 1 daughter, Donna Smart of Exeter,
NH, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, James Guyette of
Raymond, NH, Richard Guyette of Deerfield, NH, and Willis Guyette of N.H.,
one sister, Claudia Fredette of Port Richey, FL., several nieces and
nephews.
Mary was pre-deceased by one granddaughter, Tabetha Smart.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2007 from 6:00-9:00 PM
at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St. Raymond, NH.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM at
Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner’s Burn
Institute, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA. 02114.
