MILO A. PARKER

Milo A. Parker, 71, of 102 Anthony Road, North Stonington, died Saturday May 7, 2005, at the Westerly Health Center.

 
 

Born in Columbia, N.H., on Aug. 21, 1933, he was the son of Bessie (Smith) Zitka of Chicopee, Mass., and the late Leonard Parker.

Mr. Parker was a truck driver for many years before retiring.

Milo was a member of the Eastern Draft Horse Association and enjoyed horse pulling. He was an avid camper and a member of the Swamp Yankee Sams Club and he enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals. He was also a member of the North Stonington Agricultural Fair.

Milo will be sadly missed by his loving companion Shirley R. Collins of North Stonington; three sons, Stephen Parker of Tujunga, Calif., Ricky Parker of Chesterfield, Mass., and Brian Parker of Springfield, Mass.; and two daughters, Linda Donahue of Centerville, Va., and Sharon Smithies of Westfield, Mass. He also leaves three brothers, Walter Parker of Clearwater, Fla., Dick Parker of California, and Fred Plouffe of Granby, Mass.; and four sisters, Mary Mading of Cavina, Calif., Mertrude Morace of Glendale, Calif., Donna Rhodes of Massachusetts, and Rose Scagalianni of Springfield, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 30, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.
