ROBERT C. MALLOY
Robert Clayton Malloy, 69, of
8 Third St., Cheshire, a former native and resident of Adams, died
Thursday morning, Jan. 31, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield,
where he was admitted on Wednesday.
Born in Adams on April 14, 1938, he was a son of Louis W. and Mary Louise
(Gardner) Malloy. He attended Adams schools, including Notre Dame School.
He was employed as a diesel mechanic with Greylock Ice and Fuel Co. in Adams.
Earlier, he was employed at the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church of the Adams Catholic Parishes.
An aficionado of horse pulling, he owned several horses. He was a
charter member of the Berkshire County Horse Pullers Association.
His first marriage was to Marie E. Scrivens. He married the
former Katherine Cribbins on Oct. 21, 1987, in
North Adams.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Dennis and Robert Malloy Jr., both of
Adams; two daughters, Mary Malloy of Cheshire and Ann Martin of
North Adams; three stepdaughters, Andrea Douthit and Stephanie LeMay of
North Adams and Alice Demarsico of Cheshire; six brothers, Louis Malloy
Jr. of
Palatka, Fla., Joe Malloy and William Malloy of Cheshire, Bernard Malloy
and Ronald Malloy of Savoy and Gene Malloy of Conway; three sisters, Theresa
Whitmore of
Satsuma, Fla., Mary Jean Ferris of
North Adams and Rose Shaffrick of Cheshire; eight grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews.
A brother, James Malloy, died in 1999.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert Malloy will be held Monday, Feb. 4, at
2 p.m., at the McBride Funeral Home of Adams with the Rev, Daniel J. Boyle,
pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams, officiating. Burial in Bellevue
Cemetery in Adams will follow.
Calling hours are Sunday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the funeral home.
