Rodney E. Walker, 43, died April 18, 2008 at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 7, 1964 in Exeter, NH, son of Mary (Merrill) Walker and the late Rodney Walker.
Rodney grew up in Raymond and was a graduate of Raymond High School, Class of 1982. In high school, Rodney played both basketball and baseball. His latest employment was for Greg's Lawn Care for 2 years in Raymond, formerly he was employed by Lumbertown for 5 years, Kalwall Window Co. in Manchester, NH, and some time for Raymond Smart working his horses. Rodney always had a special place in his heart for horses and was a fixture at local fairs with the horse pulling. He was a member of the Eastern Draft Horses Association.
He also was an avid ten pin bowler and had bowled many seasons, multiple nights of the week at the Strikers East Bowling Lanes in Raymond.
Rodney is survived by his mother, Mary Walker of Raymond, NH, 2 brothers and their wives, Harry and Amy Walker of Candia, NH and Jim and Linda Greenough of Rutland, VT., 1 sister and her husband, Sue and Allen Smith of Raymond, NH, 2 nieces, Rhonda Smith and Tori Greenough, and 4 nephews, Harry Walker Jr., Cedric Walker, Kevin Black Jr., and James Greenough.
Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 5:30 PM at the New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH. Rev. Chandler Newton will officiate.
